My daughter, 25, recently got Covid. She tested positive on Monday the 28th. She works for a nationwide pharmacy chain and when she messaged her manager he wanted her to be back at work by Friday. He also made it a point to try to make her feel bad because he was shorthanded. I told her, that's not your fault and don't let it bother you. Thursday comes around and she's still very sick. She messages him again and says she won't make it in Friday but she'll do her best to be in Saturday. Saturday comes around and she goes to work, even though she's feeling horrible. They end up sending her home because of how sick she is.
When she got home from work on today I took her temperature. She was at 103! I told her she needs to get more rest. She messaged her manager and he said to her “I hope you get some rest in between playing video games.” I was so angry at this response! I saw my daughter, she was so exhausted from being sick that she could barely stay awake to eat some soup.
I told her, you know what? quit that awful job if that's the way management is. I'll help her with any of her bills until she gets healthy and can find a new job. She's helped that store in so many ways because when she got hired on the inventory was a mess. She took the time to get everything straightened up and this is how they treat her?
So yeah, I'm an angry mama bear.
