I work for a reputable company here in the states. A company that prides itself on being a great place to work and is constantly taking surveys to make sure it still is for the most part. My boss is always singing praise for the company that keeps our office understaffed with poor training that only reflects on the individual rather than the company. The other day my boss was praising the company for giving 5 days of paid Covid leave for coming into contact and I told them that doesn’t make a good company, it just makes a company worth working for which made them very upset. I told them paid Covid leave is a bare minimum for any career and that our company shouldn’t be praised for the bare minimum. I just feel like I should calm down before I say something crazy like “we should start a union” or something.
