I landed a nice office job last week. Was really excited. Until I started last Monday.
I’m expected to work 7-5 everyday plus take home miscellaneous assignments to do “ on my own time “ because I was told “ dedication is the key to success here “. Despite these key times NOT being highlighted within the contract I signed. They told me it is what it is.
What the fuck is this even?
Did I sign a contract to essentially enslave myself?
I hit them right back with “ I don’t really like it here “.
They and by “they” I mean everyone from the hiring manager, CEO, coworkers and other minions within the company were VERY offended when I said this. They made it seem as if it was some sacred honour to work with them.
I wanted to leave was told that I’m ungrateful at the opportunity given to work at such an “amazing” company. Go fuck yourselves if you think any of this is “amazing”.
I prefer my mental health and my wellbeing over some office job working for demoralized sociopaths.
Employers have some wacky expectations nowadays.
Guess I’m on the job hunt again.
