I worked as a director for a company for four long, draining years. I did EVERYTHING for that place, I was told by my staff that I was always fair and they enjoyed working with me at my going away function. I left when I found out that I was earning 3/4 less than the other 3 directors who did nothing, and I fulfilled around 3 roles.
Fast forward 3 years later and the place is a mess. New hires don’t last more than 6 months, their biggest client left, people in the industry keep complaining about them.
While I’m not the sole reason for the success of the place, I didn’t treat my employees like pieces of garbage, and I believe that this is the new status quo since I’ve left. Shit got done and complaints got swiftly dealt with.
Fuck bad managers and fuck fat cats sitting earning big salaries for doing nothing.
