I’m going to lie to my team and say I got exposed to COVID

To ensure I’m at home to attend a video interview. It’s on a day during our “busy period” of the month (accounting). I do work a hybrid schedule so WFH is an option…except not really. If I asked any other manager at my company if I could work from home that particular day, they would likely say yes no questions asked even during this busy time. So instead I’m going to say I got exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID and insist I WFH the day of my interview as well as the rest of that week so I can “quarantine”. I can think of no other excuse that will satisfy her. This is a lady that asked my coworker to change the date she was moving into her house because she would have to WFH on a Thursday. And if she tries to question or doubt me or imply I need to come anyways, I’ll take it to HR and make it a thing.

I’m not missing that interview. I would like to get the hell out of here.
