I’m gonna ask for a $15k raise

This week, rumor has it 2-3 employees are gonna be quitting and two people have already quit. So of our team of about 12 people, about half the people already quit or are gonna be quitting (as per the grapevine) in about a two month time frame. I know why, because the amount of work is unreasonable. Fortunately the manager is trying to hire more people, but with each person hired, it's offset by the amount of people quitting. And it's hard to find qualified applicants, or at least that's what the manager says. Anyway, the guy who I work with (we split the tasks we're responsible for) is gonna be resigning this week, so all his work is gonna come to me.

By the time they replace him and get the new hire up to speed, that's gonna be months worth of time. So I'm gonna be having a lot of 80+ hour work weeks in my immediate future.

Fortunately my financial situation is pretty good and I can afford being unemployed for awhile (having no kids or pets is a cheap lifestyle ).

So I decided, when they officially put their notices in, to tell my manager that I want a $15k raise (I currently make $60k) or I'm gonna resign. The amount of work I'm going to be tasked with isn't worth $60k, but I'll put up with it for around for like $75k.

I know most of you unfortunately don't have the option to quit, but if you do, always keep employment matters strictly business and demand raises when the opportunity calls for it. I like my manager, but this isn't gonna be anything personal against her. It will just be an adjustment to be fairly compensated for the work I'll be handling.
