I’m gonna make you a counter offer you *will* refuse

Been working at current company for almost 3 years now the last 2 of which have been a nightmare. Management shifts at every level just based on seniority instead of competency. Increased overtime with absolutely no compensation. No regard of employees. You name it we’ve got it. My company initially paid around 2.5-3$ per day fixed rate, and you could come 1 hour late in the morning, for overtime but only if you worked for more than 4 hours past off time, which is absolutely BS but atleast it was something even that was scraped due to remote work. Normal working hours were 9 hours including 1 hour lunch break. Covid working hours? You come at 9 am and you leave when we tell you too which means atleast 12 hour shifts on almost daily basis. Compensation leaves on holidays/weekends you worked? Yeah sure but they’re only applicable for 3 months…

Compensation leaves on holidays/weekends you worked? Yeah sure but they’re only applicable for 3 months from the date you worked and oh you’re working straight 6 days every week for 5 whole months? Whoops not our problem.

Leave encashment? Well we’re not cutting you salary if you take more than the alloted leaves and we will adjust everything in the next pay raise.

High employee turnover rate well guess what you’ll be working on their modules as well without any basic knowledge of what is even happening since we don’t have any system of documentation or even verbal handovers. Which resulted in me looking after 3 of the major 4 modules that my team was responsible for.

And let’s not forget the mental and physical repercussions of all of this.
Finally after months and months of searching I finally found a job at my company of choice. Accepted the offer gave my resignation with 1 month notice. The team lead and the project manager wanted to work something out. Their counter offer? You only need to work 1 extra hour instead of atleast 3 and we can possibly maybe give you the position of team lead sometime in the future probably.
According to them the hard part was over there was no reason to leave at this point.
Yeah thanks but no thanks.
