I took a new job that remote with better hours, more interesting, and way better pay. My current job is super understaffed so my boss is obviously pissed. He’s started calling me out for just chasing money. My boss though is also a rich motherfucker and always brags about his land, cars, houses, high class lifestyle, etc. he told me he couldn’t afford to pay me what I wanted and said that to our entire staff because growing the business is more important as it will be how we get what we want later. I’ve dealt with that mentality enough to see employees never get their worth, so yeah I dipped for a better position and my boss is just going on about loyalty and chasing money even though this guy was making six figures before he was 30. He is literally telling me I’m not worth what I want but for some reason he deserves all of his wealth and more yet.
For someone more than twice my age to act like a child because he’s no longer able to hold control over me honestly is amusing. It’s obviously sad, but seeing my boss this frustrated when he has directly caused turmoil for his employees is karma.
Note: yesterday, our sales manager had to Venmo a sales rep for gas money, just so she could get to a lead, if that gives any an idea of the wealth disparity here…
