As stated, my current occupation hired me to run a busy, yet small business in a vacation town. 2 days after being offered the job, I was told that I'd be a better fit for a job I did not apply for, in another location. Being the times, I still heard them out. The new off was not as desirable, but within my wheels house still.
The type of business was foreign to me, but not unfamiliar in its operation. I was told over the course of 3 months that I would be helping out and learning aspects that would allow me to manage more of the day to day operation, but I'd have to get through the busy season first.
Cut to today, when I was asked I to the office after a 9 and a half hour shift. I was told this was to inform me they are reducing my pay because they had hoped I would have taken oflver more by now. When I asked why I hadn't been brought in more like they said they would to show me these things, they said they were busy, and that I should have dropped my work to come into the busy office and ask if I could train more. The other work “would just get done” can I manage employees that think I abandon them when there is work to do? Understaffed during busy season and I need to be more proactive to be trained when everyone works 6 days a week and 8-10 hours per day? Am I wrong to think this is beyond fucked here?
TL;DR. Boss says I'm doing a great job, im just not doing more to train myself in things I was supposed to receive training on because they're too busy. Here's a paycut.
