Isn’t the corporation the best thing ever? Here I am at work with a fever of 102, barely able to make a coherent thought because my congestion is so bad. I don’t have enough PTO to cover a call off, and they won’t let me leave early because I am one of two closers, and without me they will have to close two hours early.
I would just leave, but I need this job or else I lose any sense of financial stability I have. Pay check to paycheck living is such a great motivator I suppose to keep me in line.
So I will continue to help make a big company all the money so they can toss $17 an hour at me and tell me they appreciate my loyalty and commitment.
