I hate that term, but basically I’m currently interviewing for management positions at multiple large corporations.
I am 28, have a certification in business and 6+ years of similar management experience, physical knowledge in the trade, have worked corporate full time jobs for larger positions and currently manage a business completely on my own.
I have two job offers in writing, one is 75k and the other is 85k at separate companies
The third company, which i interviewed for yesterday called me back for a second interview after my first interview went well, because they thought I would be more suited to a management role.
This time I wasn’t being interviewed by a more youthful HR group, they brought out 2 corporate level directors to interview me directly, and of course they started to tell me that my experience was not good enough for management pay scale, due outlying factors which they would not specify and danced around (sounded like age) the most they would offer me is 55k, you guys want me to take 10k pay cut work from my current job to work for you? When you clearly undervalue me the most out of anywhere I’ve interviewed?
Get fucked, you guys want me because I’m excellent but don’t want to pay me management money? Have you out of touch idiots seen the cost of gas lately? I also perform interviews myself and know that someone with a slam dunk resume who also communicates well and has outstanding combination of work history and education is hard to find… because I’m younger?
