Tl;dr been at this company for a little under a year and now is the time for annual evaluations. Quickly after joining this company, it became readily apparent that my manager (who is new in their position) did not understand in fact how to perform routine and mildly simple responsibilities normally expected of their position, let alone evaluate me on mine. In spite of this, and several other factors (compensation, working environment) I am now searching for work elsewhere. However, in the mean time, my boss is requesting I set goals to be evaluated on during my annual evaluation, which I am at a loss for… looking for some guidance on how I can navigate this with someone who doesn’t understand what I do, or what they should be doing.
