Indeed is a joke

I’ve applied for 8 jobs in the last week, and called each place to follow up. There were 3 scenarios I’ve encountered: On one instance the hiring manager had no idea there was a listing on Indeed, said “Oh I better take that down cuz there’s no positions available!” Two places posted the wrong location on the job listing, and 15 minutes into the phone call said “we are located (insert a city 45 minutes away) when the listing was marked in my city on Indeed. I’ve applied for 8 jobs in the last week, and called each place to follow up. There were 3 scenarios I’ve encountered:

On one instance the hiring manager had no idea there was a listing on Indeed, said “Oh I better take that down cuz there’s no positions available!”

Two places posted the wrong location on the job listing, and 15 minutes into the phone call said “we are located (insert a city 45 minutes away) when the listing was marked in my city on Indeed.

Two places fudged the details of the job description and said on the phone “well the job posting SAYS this but you will MOSTLY be doing (insert mundane task here).

I WANT TO WORK FOR YOU. But when it’s impossible to get jobs online in post-covid world, what am I supposed to do?

I’m tired. Might try Ziprecruiter, or actually GOING DOWN TO SOME PLACES and asking if they are hiring, but with gas prices being high I’ve been trying not to drive. This is stupidity.
