I just moved back in with my parents last night. Today my step dad and I were talking before he got frustrated with the conversation. I said things are different now. He took that as me saying he's old and doesn't know what he's talking about and got offended. And I'm young and uneducated and don't know what I'm talking about. I'm almost 30. But just because I don't have a degree, doesn't mean I'm stupid or don't understand what's going on in the world, or our country specifically.
Then went on to talk about how hard he worked to support a family. Which he did work hard, but he was making 20$ an hour 25 years ago.

He just doesn't get it. I hate that our parents have been brainwashed. In his eyes I'm basically a failure; but I say it's the systems in place that have failed us.
