What’s the most you are willing to do for an interview?
I recently applied for a position that was an entry level shipping and handling job. I’ve done this before and the pay was $19 but the schedule was insane. It was 5 AM to 5 PM or longer depending on if the shipping was done for the day.
I was very hesitant because this seemed like a high burnout job but I figured I’d work there for a few months and rake in some extra cash for a deposit on a better apartment and be looking for a better job during that time.
I got a call asking if I could do a phone interview. I said yes and they did it on the spot. They said I passed the “first round” and would send me details of what to do next. That seemed very ominous to me and I later read the email.
Y’all these people were asking me to block off 3 hours of my day to come in to their office and complete an interview with the hiring manger and then complete a basic reading writing and math test (several pages long!!!) and THEN I’d complete a second test (also several pages) to see my knowledge of a warehouse AND THEN they wanted me to have a closing interview with the CEO, floor manager, and hiring manager.
I emailed them back and told them good luck finding anyone who would do that.
This just seems insane to me.
