Is it illegal to be payed late and not be warned?

My girlfriends job normally gives out check stubs the day before direct deposit hits which is always every other Friday, tomorrow is supposed to be pay day and no stubs were given out today. Also, apparently some of her coworkers get their paychecks early like Wednesday due to using those special banks like chime, none of those coworkers got paid early though.
