Is it legal for my employer to cut my hours and not allow me to use certain equipment I am certified to use after a foot injury?

I work for my father at a food manufacturing plant. He owns the company, but in my position, I do not directly report to him. My job title is “warehouse associate”. There have been times where they have complained about my “lack of work and poor performance” while not giving me anything to do? Are they trying to get me fired? More importantly, is this practice legal?
