Is it ok to text a spiteful ex-boss to let him know I got a way better job?

Don't worry about them finding out where I work lol, I blocked all of them on LinkedIn and made my profile private. And I don't plan on posting about this job or the company either for quite a while. Why I want to do this you may ask? This guy fired me a couple of months ago and humiliated me on my last day which damaged my relations with my former coworkers too (who ghosted me after). He said things to the effect of paying me more than my peers, which was both untrue (after talking to coworkers), and insulting me and my work ethic and performance in general (which he only gave praise about before, but made a complete 180 turn). The job I now got pays twice as much and is remote. Is it because I want to rub it in his ugly face before finally moving on…

Of course, I'm only concerned about the legalities haha or being sued about talking bad about the company (which I wouldn't be doing in the text). It would be a non-spiteful message with no profanity. Just a “I have a job that is now an XXX percentage increase and is remote. Bye.” And then block his number for good.
