Is it wrong of me to call off work for a religious holiday?

Originally this holiday was supposed to fall on Sunday and I wasn’t scheduled for work so it worked out fine. The day of the holiday depends on the moon and it was shifted back one day to Saturday. I posted in my workplace’s group chat about this and tried to find someone to take my shift, but no one was available. I’ve worked part time at this store for a year now and have never called off. I’ve always been early and taken shifts for others. We have a request off book where we have to write in it 2 weeks in advance and I didn’t know until about a week ago. Would it be wrong of me to call off?
