Personally – I’d be thrilled. However, my friend hates wine. She works at a restaurant & they created a mandatory wine tasting for staff to “better understand” the wines they’re serving.
I’m fairly confident that he’s required to pay his staff since it’s mandatory, but does he have to pay the full Ohio minimum wage, or can he get away with paying the wage for wait staff (the business will be closed so there’s no tips)?
Also – is it even legal to require your employees to consume something they don’t like?
