I know that camera recordings are allowed but my boss recently bought a bunch of new cameras so he could watch us live from an app. He bought all these despite the fact that this business is basically failing and he says he can’t afford to pay us more. Whenever he’s there he is super nit picky and annoying and now he’s texting us from home nitpicking the way we do things throughout the day.
They also aren’t turned towards entrances so it isn’t for security. He only wants to watch his employees. They are only focused on behind the bar, in the kitchen, and where we chill when it’s a slow day (and by slow I mean zero customers). Our kitchen manager thinks it’s creepy and just wants to take them down.
I’m constantly super close to just walking out. And this might be the last straw but I’m curious if anyone knows if this is even legal.
