I used to work in childcare but found the management awful and felt as though they were sucking the life out of me for their own profit, disregarding what’s best for the children and the workers for what’s better for their bottom line.
One of the final straws for me was when the bosses and owner booked themselves a trip to Italy while most of us couldn’t get our leave approved, even when notifying them 6 months in advance.
I want to re enter the workforce again and on an “ethical jobs” website I came across a “profit for purpose” workplace.
Can anyone tell me anything more about this? Is it any better or just a repackaged “for profit” company? I know they do more work in the wider community from their website.
I’ve heard working for a “non for profit” can be soul sucking in different ways, is this a bit more of a middle ground or am I being fooled?
