Somewhere else outside of the states possibly do companies stop price gauging us? Is there a place where we are treated with decency and kindness instead of looked down upon for not being able to afford necessities that come with a luxury price tag? When will I stop having to skip meals to afford deodorant? Is the smallest room with no windows worth over $2k a month? Why are people asking me why I haven't seen a doctor ect… Like I could get the time off work, afford the insurance; I'm sorry I meant health insurance not car insurance or the home insurance I would pay if 16 different real estate companies weren't already bidding on not their first home but even more money to add to their record profits this year. In the city I live in 3 houseless women died in the streets within a week while many homes stand empty waiting for vacation rental season. Politicians have been bought, protests are framed in whatever light the media feels like, children are being shot, our bodies are policed- our health or sickness a business which is why preventative health care is a mystery but I can name every type of pill
If I bring any of this up people look at me as if i'm insane when these are facts. Pretending it isn't so may help one get through the day, but getting through the day is why it only gets worse. This democracy, this free market, these dreams are insidious. How many more drinks will I have to pour to make the continuous exploitation hurt a little less? Enough is enough we the people are sick and dying.
