Is there anyone to avoid a bait and switch?

I’m on my second bait and switch this year. It’s really frustrating thinking you’re gonna get an amazing opportunity and it turns out to be nothing like you were told it would be. Even asking questions to try and protect myself feels pointless because, employers just lie to your face, get you in the door, and then change your job or responsibilities. Is there any way to avoid this? What questions do you ask in the interview to try and sniff something like this out? Edit: title is supposed to be “is there anyway to avoid a bait and switch?”
