Is World’s Finest Chocolate scamming kids for their time?

Not sure if this fits this sub, but it seems close enough to me. In the car yesterday I was thinking about World's Finest chocolate, and how they partner with schools. They get the students to sell the chocolate to whoever might want it. The school gets a cut, and the company gets a cut. If the kid even made one cent here though, it would be illegal child labour. I also bet that if a student charged 25₵ more, and kept the extra quarter per sale, they would get in trouble. I'm all for volunteer work when it is actually volunteer work. This is just kids being encouraged to donate their time to help a for profit company. I don't think it's as bad when scouts sell popcorn or cookies, because they can usually see the benefit of that money going back to their own troop, and they can…

I don't think it's as bad when scouts sell popcorn or cookies, because they can usually see the benefit of that money going back to their own troop, and they can use the brand image to help them sell. Although I may just be biased because I'm an Eagle Scout.
