I'll keep it short and sweet. This is sort of a personal success story as well. Not sure if this is allowed.
I've done a lot over the years related to my career. I've owned a business, taught (small events related to my career, and also general teaching kids), grew & supplied materials.
I completely took a U turn in my life and separated from my business. The other owner was getting senile and causing A LOT of issues. I eventually have to get an independent lawyer to deal with the mess. At the end of it all, I essentially told him to f*ck off. I've bent over backwards and essentially have been stolen from. I see stories on here all the time of shit employers trying to garnish wages, tips, even time. I feel for all of y'all. No one wants to work with that crap.
I took a supplier job and it was going great. But you know what? F*ck corporate life and policies. I was injured on the job and it took MONTHS to have them sort out collections against me from the ER.
After I left, I gladly took a 3 months stay-cation at home and ate up my personal savings. During that time, the agency I was teaching for wanted to hire me full-time. I left them on read. Didn't answer calls, emails or texts. I was underpaid and overworked. Like many of you are. Out of nowhere, I was starting to receive company emails from them. “Pay increase for all workers!” and “New and improved rooms and materials”. Yeah, nope. Can't bribe me. Pay HAD to be increased because our minimum wage was increased.
The supplier job posted numerous job positions across the state and I happened to get an email alert for it from Indeed. Out of curiosity I looked. I almost wanted to go back because I needed money. They had both of my locations posted with a slightly higher wage than last year's posting (i ended up making more because of skill). After a few weeks, they reposted the positions with an even higher hourly rate. Guess they couldn't find workers.
During this time, I found a job with company doing what I was doing in my own company I owned. Great pay, eventual benefits, AMAZING boss, good coworkers, etc. It's literally all I could ever ask for or want. After a month of working here, my supplier job reached out to me FOUR TIMES asking me to come back. My written offer and such wasn't finalized yet with my new company because of some changes. My boss is awesome and I legit asked “can I tell my old boss to f*ck off?”. And that I did 🙂 He fully supported me. I was worried they'd find me and talk lies and shit to this new company if they found out.

I hope all of y'all can be in a position to where you can tell old bosses to f*ck off. That supplier job is STILL looking for workers!
