There seems to be this push for getting rid of literally every job that isn't working for Amazon, or some other similar shit company.
I just read that GM is trying to automate driving lessons? I mean seriously? It's like it won't stop until nobody has a choice, and I'm sure there's already people that don't have a choice. It's like everybody's gonna have to do non-contracted delivery, even MF's without a license will be riding Amazon bikes. Fuck, it's infuriating. What's even going to be the point of living?
Personally, I have a hold out job from a better time. Pay well, benefits, union, retirement, etc. In a perfect world, when my kid is old enough, I'd get them in the door, but that might not be able to happen. Who knows, maybe I don't see full retirement, although I have plenty of options under the same umbrella. I literally have no desire to do any other work, even if it's something I enjoyed (but without guarantee). If I lost my job, I would definitely unalive myself. I'm thinking I'm going to push my kid to study abroad, and live somewhere else, anywhere else.
