I work in a factory, so mandatory overtime is a thing. I didn’t mind working tonight into my birthday but I had put in for a vacation day last Tuesday at 12:30am so I could have off tomorrow night into Wednesday. Well it wasn’t approved because the woman who does our scheduling said requests had to be put in the Monday prior. I missed the cutoff by 30 minutes…while I guess I understand it’s a rule, I’m not quite sure that 30 minutes really hurt the scheduling process. Oh well, slaving away on my birthday it is.
