It’s story time. I have a great project manager. Blessed to have him.

This is my first job and I have been with this company for almost 2 years. When I got switched to this project, people said that the client are difficult to work with and there are so many moving parts. I didn't know the language or anything prior. For few months, the prev developer helped me transition and then it was me and my PM. At that time, the workflow was very horrible but after few months I got to know the clients and their methods of working, We found it be ridiculous and sometimes very frustrating. but it took a lot of time. My PM helped me a lot during this process like initially he used to be on the demo call for client's with me(mind you, their turn over was in millions which helped us during covid) then one day he told that I will be takeover the call and he will just witness the session.

He liked it and said it was good for first-timers. After that there have been times, he trusted me 100% , covered for me when i was falling short but also revile me when need needed and lastly made me do demo solo without his presence and I delivered all of it perfectly(This feedback came from client's side). After that we started working on a way to smoothen the process. This not only helped me in project management but also with my soft skills which IMO is more important than coding skills

I just hope that if I became PM in future, I will do that same with my people too.

EDIT: I forgot to add we both have same interested like movies, tv shows, comics. He also advices me on some personal issues if needed. People say that managers only work for client and company but not for employees. I many be naïve but I think he might be an exception. What do you think?
