I have a quirky job that I love. I built a website , sell trading cards, and stream on twitch full time. I’ve been doing this for a year and provide enough for my family to the point my wife can quit and we could pay off our house. The most important thing is I love it, I’m independent, and it’s something that makes my customers and viewers happy.
Family members of mine know all this as fact and still scrutinize it as me being lazy and just “not wanting to work”
I don’t have the nerve and I’m not going to pretend I do but I REALLY want to say:
“I’m sorry but what exactly makes you so proud of yourself to be a replaceable, underpaid, under-appreciated pawn in some rich man/woman’s life?” “Like why is that such a respectable, honorable way to live! Are you that brainwashed that you don’t see the irony?”
I don’t really have an end goal of this post – but I feel like it’s a good Avenue where people can vent about similar situations. It helps to get it out.
