Just as I exited my factory job for food production, my HR Representative called me on the phone just to tell me that the company is going through an audit. It was shady how they done it now that I'm thinking about it. They made us do a deep clean around the plant and exported double the amount of skids than usual. We even had to clean out or lockers. At first I thought “Oh maybe it's a cleaning inspection” but that's not the case at all.
When they called me, they said it might take up to weeks or a month until they hire back all the employees.
I had a call from one of the forklift drivers who I'm cool with because I'm the only one that helps him pack up boxes ( I'm food prep production, but the supervisor pushes me to help with departure. I don't mind it btw, but it'll be cool if I was paid a lil more for it)
and we talk about what really could be going on in the company. He said it's highly possible that the company is going through a restructure. They could remake the work schedule, implement new rules, permanently fire some employees, decrease the pay from $18/hr to 17 or 15, and restart probation period. Ive been working there for 2 months and I was hoping to at least stay until I received benefits, but looks like that won't happen any time soon. I've never heard of a company restructure before. I'm slowly learning the errors of corporate companies and how they treat their employees. Now I gotta look for another full time.
