In particular a growing issue on these platforms, scammers- the first type being predatory companies that offer extremely low wages for jobs that require a fair amount of experience, and job listings that lie about being “remote work”.

The second being those that try and steal my identity. I am not joking when I say I was actually convinced to give out pictures of my state id and my social security number in a job application, just to realize I’m an idiot. I’ve only been fooled once but I have had at-least a dozen of these fake postings that lure me in with reasonable wages only to receive a suspicious email asking me to download third party messaging apps or provide highly sensitive information.

Please be careful if you are applying for jobs, these job listing websites are doing almost no vetting of the business’s they are letting post on their websites.
