I’m actively applying now while I’m still working at my current job. I’m legit having wetdreams about leaving my job and leaving them high and dry. They have at this point delegated the work of 4 people (who have been laid off) to me, and I am basically the cornerstone SME of a very specific area of the system. Everyone comes to me with questions on this shit, to the point where they have to call me when I’m on PTO to ask how to do something. I imagine it’s gonna be an amazing shit show once I put in my 2 week notice… I’m looking to leave because 1) noone appreciates or appreciated the work I put in, my only reward for good work is MORE work. 2) company is extemely unstable and we are outsourcing HARD so i can really be laid off any day (it would be extremely stupid of them, but i have seen essential knowledge get laid off before. 3) and lastly my request for a raise or at the very least promotion to match what I am actually doing now, has been denied.
Anyways had to vent, but fuck it’s frustrating, just cant wait to get out of this shithole job
