WFH is GREAT for me. I save money on gas, save time by not driving half an hour each way to the office, I’m more productive because I don’t get bothered to help solve other people’s problems as often, and I get my s**t done efficiently. More efficiently generally than if I’m onsite. Seriously considering leaving my job if they keep up their slow, obviously calculated campaign to get us all to work onsite all the time again. They’re clearly just trying to do the old frog in the pot of water that slowly ramps up in temperature until the frog dies trick, but to their employees with returning onsite.
Like, if I drive an hour each day, to and from work, I spend ~250 hours a year in the car. I could beat 5 HUGE video games during that time, or learn a (few) new skill(s) with that time.
I’m tired of my employer not caring about MY time. If I get my shit done
more efficiently than when I’m onsite, why does it matter if I don’t come to the office? I’m still producing the value, and more frequently. It’s literally a better deal for them in terms of productivity.
Oh wait. I know what this is all about.
It’s about control. I forgot for a second there that to them, I’m basically a peasant. I am there to exploit for basically no other reason than that it makes them feel good.
I hate them so much. I also hate how this the USA is structured. It leads to this corporate nonsense. I want it all to crash and be replaced with a system that generally benefits the average citizen, as it always should have been.
Thanks. Just needed to vent.
