I just put in my two weeks notice at my current job where I deliver pizzas and honestly, it’s a breath of fresh air. For a while, it wasn’t terrible. Then corporate decided for the first time in, like, 5 years that they wanted to take control of the store. That was a month ago.
Since then, they have:
a) hired a new GM who is currently trying to be the GM of two separate locations who only focuses on the location they’re originally from more than our store-even when they’re in our store.
b) laid off half the work force in the last month.
c) not authorized any pay raises even to the people who have been working there for a whole year.
and d) authorized schedules that have Minors working past times they legally have to be out of the store.
The conditions we have to work on are shit, the pay for drivers specifically is shit ($8.75/hr in store $5/hr when actually delivering food), and the current GM isn’t fit to manage more than one store and it shows.
Today though, I had an interview where they decided to hire me, so as soon as I was out of the interview I messaged said GM and gave them my 2 weeks notice. Haven’t heard back from them yet, but seeing as I’m only one of 3 drivers who closes, I assume that she’s gonna be pissed.
