Just told an assistant manager to “F off” and walked off the job tonight

Been working a grocery store for 2 years. My performance reviews are perfect. I am still at the $14/hr starting for night shift and have asked for multiple raises (boss even told me I am worth way more last week but couldn't get a raised pushed through yet). I work every weekend 9pm-5am. I have never been a minute late or taken a sick day. My boss says I am his best worker. However, the assistant manager is an asshole who gets on everyone's nerves, but he especially goes after people that might take his position. Literally everything is my fault and he is never wrong. Everyone hates him and hates when he's in charge for the night. I get a call over intercom to come into the back. This has never happened in 2 years of working there, so I immediately knew he's in “a mood” and about to…

This has never happened in 2 years of working there, so I immediately knew he's in “a mood” and about to ream me with some BS. He knocked over my pallet. It wasn't even a tall pallet, about half as high as I usually stack them. Claims I built it wrong, I look it over and I tell him I see nothing wrong, it looks the same as it always does. I tell him he tried to put them on the 3rd level when this pallet always goes on the 2nd level, which is much easier and nearly impossible to spill. He argues with me some more, tells me I need to warp it (boss says we aren't suppose to warp unless its needed to save costs). This pallet is tiny. He clearly fucked up, it's only 3 boxes high and no way it fell without him hitting something. Ironically, he's fixing the loading grid on the 3rd level so it's clear he DID hit it hard. I tell him I've been putting my pallets there for years un-warped and never had a spill. He tells me I should have put it up myself then. I tell him I always do, he knows I do, but the lift was charging, so I was going to put the pallet up after break. My pallet wasn't in the way at all. He just kept arguing. I told him just put it on the 2nd level or I will later and walked away. My blood was boiling at this point and I knew if I didn't walk away I wouldn't be able to hold my breath anymore. The fact he fucked up and thinks it's “my fault” and even has the nerve to pull me away from my tasks to yell at me for his screw up…

Well he followed me out onto the floor and kept demanding I immediately go back, warp it, and put it on the 3rd level instead of the way our main boss has instructed me to do it for the last 2 years. So we got into another verbal argument, I told him to “I am only scheduled until 3am, it's 3am, I am not dealing with you anymore, bye”. I said this in front of about 6 coworkers, who we're all on edge tonight cause of his worse than normal mood tonight. We work until work is done, but I am technically scheduled until 3 and I knew if I stayed I would just fight more with him. It's not worth $14/hr. “I'll have to write you up then” and I said “fine, fuck off” and left. Note, this was not the first “fuck” dropped. He said it about 3 dozen times when yelling at me and swearing is extremely common on the night shift, our main boss swears constantly and uses offensive slurs like “R word” when referring to past employees and customers. As I am leaving he yells out loud enough for multiple coworkers to hear “What a giant fucking baby gonna write his ass up now”.

I am calling HR tomorrow but either way, my boss likes me (his boss) and I don't need this job in the worst case. My boss actually told me he doesn't know “what he's going to do” with this assistant manager because he has multiple complaints against him.
