And the reward was absolutely nothing.
For context, I'm a baker at a large chain restaurant. My boss called me on my shift to tell me about a contest all the stores have where they'll submit pictures of the product to corporate and they pick out the best looking ones that closest meet corporate standards.
My boss submitted my work and I was told it was the best out of all the other stores and I made my store look good! “But there's no prize except, I guess, pride” no raise, no bonus, but hey! I'm happy to be acknowledged! I can pay my bills with pride, right?
Not as bad as some other stories on here, just mildly infuriating.
