Just wondering what a good reason is for this.

I'm a cashier at target. Not allowed to have an ear bud in to listen to music. Some of my friends who have worked at other locations can, but not me. He said “you're supposed to work not listen to music”. Having one ear bud in only has time passing faster as a consequence, not really a downside.
