Hello everybody, I wanted to share my story of my previous job. I was working there as a forklift driver getting the usual treatment of minimal raises and consistantly being understaffed (people quitting, sick for months at a time, or just lazy people making work take longer) but even through all that I made my way to a team lead position. Yay, I thought until I was told I wouldn't be getting a raise because of the raise I had received 3 months before, but I kept working. Then multiple coworkers were off with various health issues and the business wouldn't hire new people so I decided to help by doing 60 hour work weeks (sometimes more if needed on the weekend) for over 2 months. When I had enough and told them I was done with the overtime I was told word for word “We appreciate you for doing that, you're the reason we're keeping up with our truck orders.” After hearing that I figured I'd ask for a raise, that was declined, then I found out that the newest hire was making the same as me even though I'd been there for 2 years and was a team leader, that was the last straw. I quit and got a new job that's a million times better. Never let a workplace exploit you.
