My spouse and I have been able to save a bit thanks to the student loan pause and we thought we'd put some of that savings back into the local economy and spruce up the ol' homestead with a little landscaping, something we've been planning for a few years. Maybe a couple bushes, a tree with a border and some rocks, ya know? Maybe throw a few hundred at it and come home to a pretty yard instead of just plain grass.
Got a 3D idea for what we want and it's gorgeous! They did a great job! But…then came the estimate and it's over a month of our paychecks, combined. Color us surprised! We had no idea what the market was like!
Honestly, though I'm glad. Landscaping and labor outdoors is hard work! Ya'll deserve it! Sad we gotta wait on the yardwork because we can't afford to lose a months salary, but I'm glad they're charging what they're worth in this economy. Maybe we can get something smaller and upgrade as we go. Might be time to ask for a raise? 🤷️
