Antiwork peeps, I have a issue and a question. I was working for a company for about 4 years. Just doing my job day in and day out. I was uncomfortable due to my salary being low, but I showed up, did my job, trained people and kept it moving. Then a company reaches out to me out of the blue and invites me to interview. I do, I get the job and out in my notice. I go to work for this company and everything is fine. And then they drop a bomb and tell us in 12 days we will be let go.
That fateful day was yesterday. Now they have sent paperwork to be signed in order to receive final paycheck (severance) which is 2 weeks pay. Paperwork says we cannot say anything bad about them or malign them in any way. We will only get the severance if we sign.
Now, I feel some type f way because I was minding my own business. They sought me out. I could have still been gainfully employed with earned vacation and a steady paycheck if not for their interference. I accept that I did take the job, but in light of increasing rent, who would not have left?
My question to this Reddit is: should I consider legal options along with the others who were let go?
