I rent. I'm a young, single individual with a medium-well paying job. My chance of buying a house without student loan in the country I live in are 1 in 100. My chance of buying a house with student loan in the country I live in are- well, basically non-feasible. And my rental place- well, let's just say that I had black mold all over one of the rooms and it continuously returns in my kitchen and bathroom and the answer my landlord gave to my request for better isolation was 'You can move out if you don't like it.'
I'm also an amateur author. I spend a lot of my free time writing. My current story is about a man with a very good salary looking into making more money. Despite the already morally grey implications of my main characters and his enjoyment of being a wealthy and looking to be wealthier man, I simply can't get it over my heart to actually make him buy houses to rent out for profit. Because they suck.
