Leftism is not inhibited by unpopularity

so, I got comment response on a since deleted post earlier today. the subject was the inherent leftist roots of anti-work and the person I was interacting with seemed to be promoting the mind that we must tone police ourselves and play nice in order to grow the movement. I just wanna get this out there for all the die-hard liberals in this sub. the non-proliferation of of leftist ideals and policies in not the result of some fault of leftism (except maybe that we already play too nice). the hegemonic powers that be, usually some flavor of right-wing elitism, actively stamp out the proliferation of ideas, movements, ideals, and policies that would benefit the general masses. this is because, by the nature of a financial economy, wealth NECESSITATES poverty. if money is finite, in order for one to have more, some other must have less; furthermore, as the pursuit…

I just wanna get this out there for all the die-hard liberals in this sub. the non-proliferation of of leftist ideals and policies in not the result of some fault of leftism (except maybe that we already play too nice). the hegemonic powers that be, usually some flavor of right-wing elitism, actively stamp out the proliferation of ideas, movements, ideals, and policies that would benefit the general masses.

this is because, by the nature of a financial economy, wealth NECESSITATES poverty. if money is finite, in order for one to have more, some other must have less; furthermore, as the pursuit of wealth becomes more a pursuit of ego satisfaction rather than material satisfaction, these egomaniacs require that they have ever more and more than those below them so that they can feel ok about themselves and their lives.

and I'm not just talking outta my ass. for proof, you can look into Iran's attempts to nationalize the Anglo-Persian Oil Company and the Imperial West's economic and political response. you can look at the US's response to the BPP or more pacifist movements such as that for Civil Rights. you can look at the Elizabethan policies surrounding poor houses and work houses. you can even look at modern propaganda that continues to degrade workers as lazy despite that a full-time worker can't afford single-resident housing.

in the face of all this resistance by those that man the power structure, our ideals continue to spread and take root in compassionate minds where they might bloom into continued slow progress that we have achieved so far. this, I think, says something about the reasonability and potential of our lines of thinking that the embers of revolution and solidarity have never been completely stamped out; take this as a word of encouragement to all my comrades.

anyways, since the post was deleted and I couldn't respond to the comment, I wanted to put together this little reminder that the fight isn't over till equity is achieved for all. and the fight is very much a fight. no matter how much the so-called “aristocracy” tries to box society into interactions and exchanges of niceties, we will not be blinded to the fact that the very stucture of their system is chock-full of transgressions and violence that, being so systematized, they try to deny as the products of their implements.
