As governments and corporations continue their endless assault against the rights of LGBTQ, it's more important than ever to show that this movement is about solidarity with ALL workers, regardless of sexuality, gender or anything else.
In most places, your boss can fire you for being LGBTQ. You can't be antiwork if you aren't standing firmly against this kind of discrimination. You can't be antiwork if you're okay with your fellow workers having their children stolen from them or allowing corporations to dictate who you're allowed to date and who.
Class reductionists are enemies of the working class and they only seek to divide us. They parrot the talking points of Donald Trump and Elon Musk and use minorities as scapegoats for the economic problems. (“If only the dirty queers would shut up, we'd have universal healthcare by now!”) We've seen exactly what this red-brown alliance has got us: book-burnings, anti-LGBTQ legislation, and the working class much worse off that we were prior to 2016.
Solidarity means honoring one another's lived experience under capitalist oppression and recognizing the unique ways minorities are affected by it. Solidarity doesn't mean telling minorities to shut up because problems that affect “everyone” are more important. Solidarity doesn't mean allying with far-right extremists who want most of us dead or in prison. That's called being a class traitor.
Workers of the world unite. Black lives matter. Trans rights are human rights.
If you have a problem with any of those statement, you're the part of the problem and you should do some soul-searching. I'll pray for you.
