Long post ahead, so i’m sorry in advance. So, I work at a hotel. I work Monday through Friday 7am-3pm, which is extremely rare at hotels so i’m incredibly grateful for my hours. I was out of work for a week and a half with Covid. I had a weekend family vacation planned with my boyfriend, our kids, and his family the 4th-6th, (i tested negative before going so everything was good.) I was supposed to come back to work the next Monday after that trip, but while we were gone I got the new schedule and saw my days had been cut down to Tuesday-Friday. Annoying but whatever, I could deal with and talk to my manager when I got back. But because of this, we decided to extend our trip a couple more days. Then today comes. I’m off work. I get a text from my front desk manager asking where I am, and that I should’ve been at work. I sent her a screen shot of the scheduleI was sent and told her i’m off. She then told me I guess i never received the new updated schedule as we let two people go. i told her since I wasn’t scheduled to work, that we extended our trip until this morning and that I wouldn’t be back in town until later in the afternoon. She texts me back about 25 minutes later telling me the boss lady has cut my hours down to Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and that she said she likes me but she “needs someone who is dedicated to working.” (“Boss Lady” is the co-owner/general manager/finance/HR of the hotel. Her and her husband have only owned it for about a month now.) i expressed to her how I didn’t deserve this kind of treatment, that i’m one of their hardest workers, and that i was under the impression I wasn’t scheduled to work, otherwise I would’ve obviously showed up for my shift. I cannot afford to only work three days a week. I’m so annoyed, because this is the second time they’ve tried cutting me down to three days a week. i don’t want to leave because i get paid decent and i have an amazing schedule. I’m going up to work after i get home from my trip to talk to boss lady, but idk what to do about this. I have been here on and off for a total of 6 and a half years.
