Posting here seeking advice. I work for a Mom and Pop comic shop in MA, and they've been abusing my best coworker, who we'll call “Joe”.
Joe has been working at the store for several years, starting as a cashier, and still only pulls MA minimum wage, despite having the functional responsibility of a manager. In addition, Joe puts in countless hours of overtime for the store well in excess of 40 hours, for which he does not recieve MA's 1.5x overtime rate.
Joe loves the store and working there, and is so nonconfortarional that he refuses to ask for a raise, let alone fight for the overtime pay he has a right to.
Is there anything I can do for him? Would it be possible to file a complaint to the labor board on his behalf, or take any other action?
