Local healthcare company using one remote job to attempt to poach employees for all types of non WFH positions.

Hey, everyone! I usually lurk and only comment on this sub but lately had an experience that I thought you all may have an opinion on or even get a kick out of it. I’m a registered nurse (have been for 14 years) and have been applying to all kinds of WFH/tele health positions. Last week, I must’ve put in about 12 applications alone. I immediately got a text back from a company, it was one of their nurse managers who wanted to set up a time for a phone interview. I was excited and thought that I might finally get a nursing position that I could WFH. I asked if we could set up a phone call the following day because I just got home and was putting a ton of groceries away and wanted a little time to brush up on my interview skills and get focused. She called me immediately instead. Okay… fine, no big deal. She was very nice, polite and really sweet to talk to and began asking me about myself. I told her about myself and then she asked me what type of jobs I’d be interested in, I reminded her of the position that I applied for (which was a WFH nurse reviewer job). She bypassed that and then told me that they have nurse manager positions available that are only a hybrid option but that they would only be available to people with experience. I told her I have 14 years of experience and that my last job was with home health so that’s good, I have the experience. Here’s the kicker, she acted somewhat dismissive towards that and then starts to talk about jobs that are out in the field and would require me to go to patients homes, schools or the hospital. In my last job I did, I was sent all over the state with my patient cases and part of the reason that I have been looking for WFH options is because I’d like a break from that. Being sent all over the place throughout the pandemic had burnt me out and I want something that offers more of a work life balance because I have a child and could commute less and have that extra time to spend with her.

So basically, this company is using one remote position to poach employees for all of their other jobs that no one is applying to. Technically, I couldn’t report that listing as a non WFH position because they are looking for one person to fill those shoes but they are using that position to data mine for employees who have no interest in their other positions? I guess I’m just floored that some employers will go to any lengths to deceive people into working. I’m not even shocked but just disgusted that they’re this manipulative. It feels like the old bait and switch method. I hate it here.
