they hired me for NIGHT SHIFT. My first day, they tell me to be there at 6AM. I am a night person so this sucks balls. The second day they tell me to be there at 6AM. I tell my manager that this doesn't work for me so in his infinite wisdom tells me to come in at 10AM. That's STILL not the night shift so the next day I text him that it wont work for me and he just never got back to me. At this point, I havnen't gotten my W4 forum filled out yet, so when I go in to get my paycheck my OTHER manager hits me with this line: “Since you worked here less than a week we consider you an unpaid intern and are entitled to no money” and he used the words “unpaid intern” at least 6 times in the conversation
I ended up texting the OWNER of the store who denied anyone ever told me I was just an intern and I just need to turn in my W4 forums to get paid when I mentioned the industrial commission but I am super duper pissed that they even tried to pull this to begin with? Its a headshop and 24 hour convenience store so most of the employees aren't the type of people to know their rights and i know they'll try this again in the future.
