Long post … advice

So, for 9 years I’ve worked in a very niche space in the energy industry (yes, the evil one). It’s paid well, I’ve enjoyed it and the company has generally looked after us ok. They restructured our team 4 years ago, relocated me, changed my roster from 14 days on/14 days off/10 hr days to a standard work week . I unwisely opined that I didn’t support this, and have a decent history of speaking “as equals” i.e as respectfully as you’d expect in an oil patch

I’ve now been taken to task for this, am thoroughly sick of corporate life, hate that I work in an industry that spends its time greenwashing and holding everyone to ransom.

The question: should I nut up, and leave to retrain in a better field ( counselling appeals)…. Or just continue with the depressing, cognitive dissonance of the golden handcuffs because we live in a society that values wealth over principles..

(I know there’s an idealistic answer but I want opinions that resonate with me)
