How do I tell my supervisor to stop berating me in front of my department in department meetings based on things that are not true because of how they affect me emotionally? I plan to do this a tomorrow's department meeting. want to make it clear that it makes me want to quit. I've told my supervisor's boss and nothing has changed. I contacted HR today for the first time at any job in my life. They're sending me to EAP and I already have bad experiences with s*icide hotelines, so I dont see this benefitting me.
Today she put me on the spot for not finisning a project that is supposed to take days to complete. She said that I'm making it hard for my lab's study directors but they had no problem with me finishing when I could. She said this in front of my whole department and the directors looked at her confused, while I was stuck in headlights. Thanks!
And yes I'm working on getting another job because I'm reaching my breaking point, and I hear it's hard to recover from science-related burnout. I had 2 interviews today for jobs that pay more.
